Half Day Playworker Moves on to Peace Corps

Diamond is a huge asset to ICG and will be missed by campers and her ICG family.

Diamond Oden, an ICG playworker, has been accepted into the Peace Corps.

A recent Cornell graduate, Diamond studied Environmental Science. When applying to a Peace Corps program, she chose to stay in a field suiting her qualifications and will be an agroforestry volunteer in Jamaica.

When asked what she is most excited for in this upcoming adventure, Diamond says, “I’ll get to learn Creole! Just learning a new culture, and people, and way of life is exciting. I find that people in communities like one I’ll be going to can be very welcoming when they want you to be there, so I’m looking forward to building those relationships and being taken in by the locals.”

The ICG team will be proud to see all the good that Diamond does, and we wish her the best of luck.
