ITHACA, NY — Experience the magic of winter at Ithaca Children’s Garden (ICG) during the Festival of Fire & Ice on Saturday, February 8, from 3–6 PM. This free, family-friendly event transforms the Garden into a winter wonderland, brimming with activities to embrace the season.
This year’s event highlights include:
- Dazzling fire performances
- Interactive snow activities led by ICG educators
- A hot chocolate cauldron and marshmallows for roasting
- The Arctic Animal Parade, orchestrated by LilyPad Puppet Theatre
- Haudenosaunee storytelling with Perry Ground
Since its inception in 2013, the Festival of Fire & Ice has grown into a beloved winter tradition, drawing hundreds of attendees annually.
“The original inspiration was getting children and families outdoors to connect with nature during the coldest time—especially when many of us are in the throes of deep cabin fever,” said Erin Marteal, Development Director at ICG. “It’s a chance to uplift one another and celebrate together during Ithaca’s coldest, darkest season.”
The Festival of Fire & Ice is free to attend, and donations are welcome to support Ithaca Children’s Garden. Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase.
Don’t miss this unforgettable winter celebration. Register here.
