Rice Paddy Pond
This pond was dug in 2013 to help ICG solve some of its drainage issues caused by heavy summer rains and a high water table. In the spring of 2014, tadpoles moved in and volunteer Dan Krall transformed it into one of ICG's most-loved features: a rice paddy! The kid-sized docks allow for water exploration — many a visitor has caught frogs, tadpoles and water insects. Iris, taro, lilies and rice have helped create a thriving ecosystem here in very little time!
Sitting on the dock watching tadpoles is always a winning way to spend the afternoon.
